3 Tips For Picking Your Wedding Dress
Finding the right wedding dress can be stressful, especially with all of the choices and styles of wedding dresses that are available in bridal stores. On Access Hollywood, our Wedding Fashion Expert shared three important pieces of advice for brides to consider when it comes to picking a wedding dress.
Tip 1: Consider Timeline
Our best advice for when it comes to starting to shop for your wedding dress is to consider the timeline for how long it will take to order your wedding dress. Most wedding dresses are made-to-order, which means it can take six to eight months or even a year for your wedding dress to be delivered to the bridal dress shop for you. In addition, brides will also want to allow for a few additional months for wedding dress alterations. Most wedding dresses will need to be tailored to fit you perfectly.
If you are short on time and you don’t have about a year to order your wedding dress, do not worry. You have options for a gorgeous wedding dress in a shorter time frame, including sample sale wedding dresses. Also, a very limited number of wedding dress designers offer rush production.

Tip 2: Make Sure You Can Dance
When you’re selecting your wedding dress it is important that you feel comfortable and can move around. On your wedding day, you won’t be standing still like a statue. When you’re in the dressing room for the bridal store and trying on dresses, make sure to move around and raise your arms up and down.
It is important for brides to find a wedding dress style and silhouette that makes them feel beautiful and confident, but also comfortable. They will want to find a wedding dress design that they can move around in and feel confident walking and dancing.
There are many wedding dress styles that allow for movement that brides will want to consider, such as illusion fabric on an open-back dress design, or long, off-the-shoulder sleeves that aren’t attached to the dress and can be removed.

Many brides want to wear different styles on their wedding day and change up their look throughout the day, whether that is one style for the wedding ceremony or another style for the wedding reception.
If you want two different looks for your wedding day, brides can consider getting two different dresses. However, wedding dress designers are offering convertible bridal dress styles that have options within one dress, including off-the-shoulder straps that can be worn up or down, and overskirts that can be removed or reattached as a half skirt.
Convertible wedding dresses give the bride options and different looks and styles within one wedding dress. For example, a wedding dress that is a ball gown style can have the full skirt removed to reveal a fitted, column style dress underneath to give the bride options and different looks within one wedding dress.
