Questions about the dress prices and availability flood in and so today we're sharing with you all about what you can expect. We'll get into why these new bridal dress designs aren't always immediately available, how long you'll need to wait, and if you'll be able to wear on for your upcoming big day.
We're also sharing with you how best to be inspired by fashion week runway shows and bridal fashion trends for your wedding, even if you don't have the time to wait for those new wedding dresses to be ordered in time for your wedding date. If you're newly engaged and actively planning your wedding, chances are you're browsing social media and bridal websites to see the latest in wedding and bridal fashion trends. New York Bridal Fashion Week will always be a big hit and showcase the latest designs that bridal dresses designers have released onto the runways. But, that doesn't mean those dresses are available to order in time for your wedding.
Whether you're a trend-setter or looking for some fashion guidance, there are some very important things you need to know when it comes to delivery timelines for wedding dresses, specifically to those newly debuted dresses from fashion week.
Wedding Dress Timelines
First, what's important for you to know is that when you order a dress for your wedding, it takes approximately 6 to 8 months to order and arrive at the bridal boutique. This can depend on the time of year you order and the designer's delivery dates.
When we as buyers at stores go to fashion week, like our stylists from Lovella, we are ordering the sample wedding dresses that will be in our stores for you to try on. Once we see the new dress designs come down the runway, we place our orders for sample dresses with the designers.
Our in-store sample dresses take as long to receive as your dress would when you order yours, which is about 6 to 8 months. Designers do try to make all bridal stores order the same size in an effort to get the sample dresses out to the boutiques faster, but it's not always a guarantee.
Bottom line, the new wedding dresses you see at New York Bridal Fashion Week will be available months after fashion week actually occurred.
When Do New York Bridal Fashion Week Dresses Arrive In Stores?
If your wedding is in May or sooner, you won't be able to order a new dress from New York Bridal Fashion Week and receive it on time for your wedding.
New York Bridal Fashion Week is the second week in October every year. This means that sample dresses will arrive to our bridal boutique at a minimum of four months later, most likely they are in our store by the 6 month mark. Six months from mid October is about mid April, which is the earliest these dresses will be in our store for you to try on.
Once the samples arrive in store, you'll need to try them, find your dress dress and then place your order, which takes about 6 to 8 months.

How To Get The New York Bridal Fashion Week Look Without The Wait
Just because your wedding timeline doesn’t allow for a brand-new runway gown doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the latest bridal fashion trends.
One of our favorite parts of attending New York Bridal Fashion Week is coming home and sharing all of the trends we spotted. From wedding dresses to accessories, there's so much to see on the runways.
Here are our spotted bridal fashion trends from Spring 2025 bridal market. And, don't miss our top bridal accessory trends.
Much of our sample inventory that we have in-store reflects some of the trends that we saw at this year's bridal market like basque waistlines and corsets. We can show you what’s already available at Lovella Bridal that reflects those same styles from the runways.
If you’ve seen a gown or accessory online that you love but don’t have time to wait for to arrive in store, bring those photos or your inspiration to your bridal appointment. Show them to your stylist, and we’ll help you find something similar that achieves the same overall look and feel within your wedding timeline.
Whether it’s a modern neckline, dramatic detail, or a fresh new take on lace, our stylists can guide you toward designs that mirror the latest Fashion Week trends that are all available to try on now and will be available in time for your wedding.
Order Your Bridal Dress Early
Even if you're not ordering a bridal dress hot off the runway, you still need to be aware of Bridal Market and its impact on your dress ordering. New York Bridal Market does impact all dress designs, not just the new designs.
We highly recommend getting your bridal dress order in before bridal fashion week, because when the bridal stores place their Bridal Market orders it delays delivery dates for brides. As this is a manufacturing chain, these are the types of things that impact the timing of your gown arrival.
Another factor affecting delivery dates is that many designers experience a closure over the holiday season, often many weeks long. This will also delay your delivery date if you order was placed during or right before this holiday season timeframe. This is why we always quote a delivery timeline of 6 to 8 months for wedding dresses to arrive in store after you place your order.

Be Careful Waiting for a Trunk Show
A designer trunk show is one option where brides may be able to order a new bridal dress design from the runway. A trunk show allows bridal stores to bring in dresses that are not yet available in stores, so what brides saw at Fashion Week could potentially be available in store during the trunk show.
Designers do sometimes travel with their newly debuted dresses during the trunk shows, like our upcoming trunk show with Hayley Paige.
Some designers who do offer their new dress designs at trunk shows, don't do so until the January following the October fashion week debut. If brides are interested in the trunk show option to order a new dress, they will need to follow the timeline from January, or the date of the trunk show. That means once you place your order at a trunk show, you will have 6 to 8 months until your dress arrives in store, plus additional time for alterations to make sure it will be ready in time for your wedding.
We do not recommend that brides wait until a trunk show to come in and shop dresses. We always recommend visiting the bridal boutique with an appointment to shop before the trunk show. Try on dresses from that designer, exhaust all of the options available.
That way, when the trunk show arrives brides are only trying on dresses from the trunk show and comparing those to the ones you already tried on previously. This means you'll be able to make that decision on trunk show day because these dresses are only visiting and you'll need to make that purchase while those dresses are shown at the boutique during the trunk show.
