To recap the top trends in new bridal fashion, we have detachable details, bold colors, high-low hemlines, minimalist styles, sheet fabrics, off the shoulders styles, and custom embroidery. We are going to share some examples of these latest trends in the wedding fashion world to inspire brides shopping for their dream wedding dress.

Video: Part 2: Top 7 Wedding Dress Fashion Trends

Before we dive in to all the behind the scenes footage and examples of the latest wedding dress trends from New York Bridal Fashion week, be sure to watch this week's video showcasing the top 7 wedding dress fashion trends.

Multiple Trends In One Dress

In this first video from New York Bridal Fashion Week, we can see multiple new wedding dress trends in one bridal dress. In this stunning beaded sparkle wedding dress by Zuhair Murad, the first trend we see is detachable details with the removable wedding dress overskirt which allows brides to have two wedding day looks in one dress. We also have the off the shoulder neckline that’s made with a sheer fabric, as well as a sheer fabric skirt. This bridal dress can actually be worn in three ways, as the sheer, off the shoulder jacket is detachable as well. We love a dress like this so that brides can really customize their wedding day looks and change their style throughout the wedding events.

The next wedding dress we want to showcase is another Zuhair Murad bridal dress that also has multiple trends in the same dress. This is another off the shoulder neckline dress with some sheer elements. This gown features three dimensional floral detailing for a bold look. For the second trend, this dress also has a detachable element. The sheer bolero is removable so you can change up your bridal look from wedding ceremony to reception.

Detachable details and sheer fabrics were two of the top bridal fashion trends we saw at New York Bridal Fashion Week. Up next is a stunning design from Berta that also incorporates multiple trends. This wedding dress is full of sheer fabric details from the long sleeves to the dress skirt. The overskirt on this bridal dress is detachable, and the sheer sleeves are actually removable as well so you could transform this bridal dress into a strapless style.

Off the Shoulders

The next wedding dress showcasing sheer fabrics and detachable details is a lace detailed, mermaid style wedding dress from Rita Vinieris. We love how versatile this particular dress is, allowing for three different looks throughout wedding day. You start out with the sheer off the shoulders style and can then remove the sheer bolero leaving the sheer gloves to transform the dress from ceremony to reception. You can then remove the gloves for the wedding afterparty.

Off the shoulders necklines is a huge trend we are seeing in bridal fashion and this next dress by Zuhair Murad is an incredible example of this trending style. At first glance, you may think this dress also includes detachable details, but this gown is designed to remain in this style all night to really showcase all the lace detailing. We love the off the shoulders neckline for a feminine silhouette.

Bold Colors

The next bridal dress trend we saw at New York Bridal Fashion week is bold colors. Designer Ines Di Santo really ran with this new trend and had some incredible designs for brides looking for a unique wedding day look and who aren’t very traditional. This halter neckline wedding dress has the most incredible periwinkle blues and purple hues for brides who really want to stand out.

If you are looking for a more subtle pop of color, we love this next dress by Ines Di Santo that is a bit more traditional with just a hint of color with the colorful floral appliqués.

If you are a bride looking for your “something blue” on wedding day and want to make a bold statement, we love this gorgeous blue ballgown bridal dress by Ines Di Santo.

High Low Hemlines

Another incredible design by Rita Vinieris also makes use of multiple new wedding dress trends. We are loving all the customizable wedding dresses that allow brides multiple looks on wedding day with just one dress. This gorgeous long sleeve, lace and tulle ballgown is another three in one wedding dress with detachable details. The overskirt can be removed for a mini dress giving a great high to low hemline look. This is a great option for a reception bridal dress to really dance carefree without a ballgown skirt. The long sleeve lace jacket is also detachable giving brides a third look for their wedding afterparty.

Minimalist Styles

For our more traditional or modern brides, we love the look of the new minimalist styles we saw on the runways. Simple, clean wedding dresses with minimal detailing are perfect for classic bridal style. This beautiful satin dress by Rita Vinieris features a bateau neckline with an open back. The A-Line silhouette gives a really clean and modern look.

Another look we loved with minimal embellishments is this classic ballgown from Berta. Clean lines, an architectural neckline, and gorgeous fabric with an incredible dress train making for a dramatic bridal look without a lot of bold details.

Custom Embroidery

The last wedding dress trend we want to showcase is custom embroidery. This is such a fun trend that allows brides to really personalize their wedding day look, whether that be on their wedding dress or wedding veil. We love the idea of embroidering your new initials or wedding date onto your wedding dress or having a custom veil like this Leah Da Gloria bridal veil shown in the video.
